A friendly French speaking village, Leysin offers numerous attractions for all ages, with a dozen excellent restaurants, several sports centres, two supermarkets and varied shopping.

Leysin enjoys excellent road and rail connections and is approximately 1hr 30mins (125kms) east from Geneva, 30mins from Montreux and 45mins from Lausanne. During the summer and winter seasons an hourly shuttle bus runs throughout the village, stopping outside the chalet. There are several pleasant walks into the village, taking 15-20 mins; three taxi companies are based in Leysin with minibuses available; bicycles are available at the chalet.

Leysin is convenient for excellent day trips to nearby well-known towns and villages, including Gstaad, Les Mosses, Rougemont, Villars, Château d’Oex, Saanen, Glacier 3000, Les Diablerets, Lausanne, Montreux and Vevey. There are also numerous attractions including the superb spa at Lavey Les Bains, the Fondation Pierre Gianadda Museum, with gardens and Roman ruins, near Martigny, and of course, fabulous Lac Léman (Lake Geneva). All are less than 40 mins by car, post bus or train.
